It's 2017 already?! Our Westchester eye doctor, Dr. Jenn Tabiza, wants all her patients to enjoy optimal vision throughout the new year and beyond. Along with her staff, she's here to offer some helpful tips and services that can improve eye health for people of all ages from the surrounding Los Angeles area, including Playa del Rey and Playa Vista communities.
This year, be proactive. Don't wait to see an eye doctor until you notice a problem with your vision. The risk in doing so is that many health eye diseases and vision disorders don't begin to show symptoms until after they have already progressed significantly!
The number one way to protect your eye health this year and any year is to get a comprehensive eye exam with our Los Angeles eye doctor. She'll be able to detect any early warning signs of eye health problems--such as cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration--so that earlier treatment can be implemented. Not only can this improve outcomes for you, but it can also save you a lot of time, money, and energy down the road.
A routine eye exam is also the best way to ensure that any current prescriptions you have to correct a visual disorder are appropriate for you. Our eyes change as we age, which means those glasses you got years ago may not be helping you very much anymore!
Additionally, some eye health problems are actually symptoms of other underlying conditions, and in many cases our optometrist has helped alerted people to issues (such as diabetes) that may require further attention from their primary care doctor.
The bottom line is that caring about your eye health is good not only for your vision, but for your overall well-being, too.
If you've made a resolution this year to improve your health, then don't forget about the health of your eyes! Remember, even people with perfect vision should be examined annually by an eye doctor. Board-certified Los Angeles optometrist Dr. Jenn Tabiza is currently accepting patients of all ages from Los Angeles, Westchester, Playa del Rey, Playa Vista, and surrounding communities. She also speaks Farsi, Spanish, and English for your convenience!
